The main objective of this course is to make students understand the fundamentals of human anatomy and its application in art. Develop skills in drawing and rendering the human form with accuracy and detail learn to identify and draw individual bones, muscles, and other anatomical structures. Analyse and appreciate the works of master artists who have depicted the human form.
Course Outline:
Month 1: Foundations of Human Anatomy
- Week 1: Introduction to Human Anatomy
- Overview of the human skeleton and muscular system
- Understanding anatomical terminology and concepts
- Week 2-3: The Skeletal System
- Learning to draw individual bones and bone groups
- Understanding bone structure and function
- Week 4: Introduction to the Muscular System
- Overview of major muscle groups and their functions
- Learning to draw basic muscle shapes and forms
- Week 1-2: The Skull and Facial Bones
- Learning to draw the skull and individual facial bones
- Understanding facial structure and proportions
- Week 3-4: The Neck and Shoulder Region
- Learning to draw the neck and shoulder muscles
- Understanding the relationship between bones and muscles in the neck and shoulder region
Month 3: The Torso and Abdomen
- Week 1-2: The Ribcage and Thoracic Spine

- Week 3-4: The Abdominal Muscles and Pelvis
- Learning to draw the abdominal muscles and individual muscle groups
